It was a beehive of cultural displays at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja, when Ndi Anambra in the Federal Capital Territory marked their 2025 Cultural Day celebration with a showcase of tradition, colour, and unity.
The event, organised by the Abuja Chapter of the Anambra State Towns People Association, brought together sons and daughters of Anambra State in a proud celebration of their roots as personalities graced the occasion, with Senator Ben Ndi-Obi (Ojeligbo) serving as Chairman of the event.

Representing the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR, the Deputy Governor, Dr. OnyekaChukwu Ibezim in his speech delivered a message of cultural affirmation and unity. Dr. Ibezim described culture as “the soul of a people.”

He stated that the event was an expression of Anambra’s heritage, values, and shared identity as he commended the organizers for their dedication to preserving culture and fostering community engagement.

“Culture defines who we are, shapes how we see ourselves, and influences how we relate to the world. Today’s celebration reminds us not only of our history but also of our responsibility to pass our identity on to the next generation.”Dr. Ibezim.
He reaffirmed that the Soludo-led administration’s commitment to promoting culture and unity among Ndi Anambra, both at home and in the diaspora is unrelenting, stressing that culture plays a vital role in development, peaceful cohesion and deeper understanding of our roots.
"Events like these are crucial, and we will continue to support them,” he added.

Sharing his thoughts, an Anambra indigene residing in Abuja, Mr. Uchechukwu Okoye said: “This is more than entertainment. It is a reaffirmation of who we are and where we come from.”
With the large turn out of people, masquerades display, dancing troupes, communities representation and igbo regalia seen in their numbers, one can indeed say that heritage lives on wherever the people carry it and in Abuja the nation's capital, Anambra’s culture is very much alive and thriving.
