DEPUTY GOVERNOR IBEZIM HONOURED WITH CHIEFTAINCY TITLE IN MBAUKWU 

-Wife Also Conferred Title As The Traditional Ruler Lauds Couple’s Contributions

The Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, has been conferred with the chieftaincy title of “Ife Mbaukwu” by the traditional ruler of Mbaukwu, His Royal Majesty Igwe Peter C. Anugwu, in recognition of his service and contributions to the community and the state.
The ceremony, held a day prior to Mbaukwu’s annual New Yam Festival, drew dignitaries, politicians, community members, and well-wishers in their numbers to celebrate with the Deputy Governor.

In his remarks, Igwe Anugwu described Dr. Ibezim as a worthy son of Mbaukwu whose leadership and developmental efforts have had far-reaching impacts.

According to him “Dr. Ibezim has shown commitment, humility, and visible service to both the state and this community. Today, we honour him as ‘Ife Mbaukwu’ — the Light of Mbaukwu,” the monarch said.
He also extended a goodwill message to the Anambra State Governor Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, praising their administration’s developmental strides and praying for continued success.

Responding after the conferment, Dr. Ibezim expressed gratitude for the honour, describing it as a motivation to do even more.

 “This title is a call to greater service. I am deeply honoured and remain committed to the growth of our community and the progress of Anambra State,”... Dr. Ibezim. 

The Deputy Governor also thanked Governor Soludo for his continued support and to ndi Anambra he pledged their total support as the upcoming gubernatorial election scheduled for November 8 draws near stressing that APGA is the people's party.

Also speaking at the event, Prof. Ebuka Nwankwo, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Projects, and Barr. C.C. Chukwudi, the Senior Special Assistant on Legal Matters, simultaneously stated that the honour was as well-deserved and said it would further inspire the Deputy Governor to continue delivering impactful projects for ndi Mbaukwu.

Friends and associates of Dr. OnyekaChukwu Ibezim , including Dr. V. Egbuna and Hon. Obinna Okonkwo respectively highlighted Dr. Ibezim's achievements, including the employment of Mbaukwu indigenes across sectors and the attraction of key infrastructure projects such as road construction, human capital development, to mention but a few.

In a related development, Lady Oluchi Ibezim, wife of the Deputy Governor, was also honoured with the chieftaincy title “Ugogbe Mbaukwu”, acknowledging her support and contributions to the deputy governor and the community.

The event featured prayer session by the Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province on the niger and the Bishop of Awka Diocese Anglican communion His Grace Most Rev'd Alexander Chibuzor Ibezim PhD. Also was the rich cultural displays and traditional music, with community members and dignitaries paying homage to the newly installed title holders.
