The International Convention Centre, Awka, was the venue for the Council Meeting and Made in Anambra Products Free Exhibition organized by the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA).

The two-day event, hosted by the Awka Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (AWKACIMA), attracted members of the association from across Nigeria’s geopolitical zones as well as from the diaspora.

In his remarks, Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo (CFR), represented by his Deputy, Dr. OnyekaChukwu Ibezim, welcomed delegates to the state, described the event as “highly significant.” The Deputy Governor emphasized that the Soludo-led administration is focused on next-generation development and expressed the state government’s readiness to partner with NACCIMA to foster economic growth.

“This state is home to business and enterprise. We have created a conducive atmosphere with policies that support ease of doing business,” Dr. Ibezim noted. He also highlighted several state government initiatives aimed at economic transformation and improving the lives of citizens.
NACCIMA National President, Engr. Dr. Jani Ibrahim, expressed delight at being in Anambra. He commended Governor Soludo for his “exceptional work” across the state, described Anambra as a nationally recognized hub for entrepreneurship and particularly applauded the state government youth empowerment programmes.

“We chose Anambra for our first quarterly meeting this year because of the impressive entrepreneurial support and creative economy witnessed here,” he said, citing notable developments such as the Solution Fun City, the free education initiative from Primary 1 to Basic 6, and other government-backed innovations.

Also speaking at the event, the President of AWKACIMA, Engr. C. Uba, expressed appreciation for the presence and support of the state government. He emphasized that the programme would enhance access to NACCIMA’s opportunities for local businesses and appealed for government intervention on needs of the Awka branch of the association.
The event was vibrant with awards and recognition given to the state governor as some of the attendees were seen dressed in colourful traditional attires. Dignitaries present included the Anambra State Commissioner for Industry, Commissioner for Agriculture and the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, among other notable figures.
