SOLUDO DECLARES OPEN ASATU YOUTH SEMINAR IN AWKA, URGES YOUTH TO APRAISE THEMSELVES AND POSITIVELY CHANGE GEARS IF POSSIBLE

In a vibrant display of youth engagement and civic responsibility, Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, declared open a two-day workshop/seminar organized by the youth wing of the Association of Anambra Town Unions (ASATU). The event was held at the ASATU Secretariat Complex, Old Government House, Awka.
The seminar, hosted by the ASATU Youth President, Comrade Ken Okoli, carried the theme: "The Role of ASATU in Deepening and Consolidating Leadership, Security, Governance, and Value System for Community Development in line with the Solution Agenda of Mr. Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR."
Representing the Governor at the opening ceremony, the Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr. OnyekaChukwu Ibezim, commended the organizers for convening such an important event. He described youthfulness as a matter of the heart and emphasized the need for young people to continually evaluate their roles in society and "change gears" when necessary.
Dr. Ibezim urged the youth to justify the trust and resources invested in them, stressing that effective leadership at all levels requires both leaders and followers to play their parts diligently. He highlighted the ongoing infrastructural and socio-economic development across the state under the Soludo administration.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Youth Empowerment, Comrade Patrick Agha Mba, lauded the growing involvement of youth in governance. He reaffirmed that Governor Soludo remains committed to youth empowerment and will continue to pursue policies that uplift young people in Anambra.
In his welcome address, ASATU Youth President Comrade Ken Okoli expressed gratitude to the state government for its support and praised the Governor’s achievements in just three years in office. He assured continued support from the ASATU youth wing for the Soludo-led administration, expressing optimism for more developmental dividends from the “Solution Government.”
The event attracted top government officials, past ASATU presidents, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders from across the state.
