GOVERNOR SOLUDO HONOURED AS "GOVERNOR OF THE YEAR IN URBAN RENEWAL"

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo (CFR) has received yet another prestigious accolade for his exemplary leadership and remarkable contributions to the development of the state.
At the 2024 Daily Independent Newspapers' Awards, held on March 15, 2025 at Lagos, Governor Soludo was named Governor of the Year in Urban Renewal for his outstanding work in reshaping the state's infrastructure, urban landscapes, and overall development.

Representing the Governor at the ceremony, Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr. OnyekaChukwu Ibezim expressed his pride in the recognition, highlighting that it reflects the significant progress the state has made under Soludo's leadership. "This award is a testament to the tireless work of our dear Governor Soludo," Dr. Ibezim remarked. "Nigeria and the international community continue to acknowledge the transformative changes taking place in Anambra."
He went on to describe Anambra as "a construction site," citing the ongoing visible transformation that has earned the state national and international praise. "From Okpoko to Onitsha, Awka north and south, Orumba, Aguata exetera the transformation is clear—quality roads, hospitals, schools, and access to clean water are now a reality for the people. This award speaks volumes about the thoughtful planning and vision behind these advancements," Dr. Ibezim added.

Under Governor Soludo's leadership, Anambra has become a model of urban renewal, with notable achievements in infrastructure development, economic empowerment, human capital development, and environmental sustainability. His administration's focus on urban renewal extends beyond physical infrastructure, aiming to create a more prosperous and livable environment for all residents of Anambra.
