SOLUDO EULOGISES OGBONNAYA ONU AS THE GREAT IGBO SON IS LAID TO ETERNAL REST.

In a look like a gathering of the south eastern Governors and other prominent Nigerians today at Uburu community in Ebonyi state, the first civilian Governor of Abia state and former minister of the federal republic of Nigeria, His Excellency late Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu CON,FNSE, FNSCE is being laid to mother earth. 

In his tribute, the President, federal republic of Nigeria,His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR represented by the honourable minister for works His Excellency sen. David Nweze Umahi (CON) described late Ogbonnaya Onu as a true Nigerian who devoted his life to the service of the eastern region and the nation and called on ndi Igbo and Nigeria to take solace on his legacies.

In his interview, the Anambra State Governor Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo 
( CFR) whose Deputy Dr. OnyekaChukwu Ibezim spoke on his behalf, stated that the late former minister of Science Technology and Innovation dedicated his life in selfless service for the nation's growth.

Dr. Ibezim admired late Onu's brilliant academic excellence and prowess in uplifting humanity and regretted that his unwavering commitment and dedication to the growth of our nation would be greatly missed.  

He called on the family and the people of Ebonyi, Abia, and the entire eastern states to take solace on God and the legacies he left behind.

Late Onu was born on December 1st 1951 in Ebonyi. Had his doctorate degree in chemical engineering from the university of califonia, appointed minister in 2015 by former President Mohammadu Buhari, decorated with the award as Commander Order of Niger (CON), served till 2022 when he resigned and went for the All Progressive Congress presidential primaries. He died at the fruitful age of 72 in April 2024.

May his soul rest in peace.
