At the State Emergency Management Agency's  complex today November 13, 2024 was the official handover of multi million naira worth of relief items  donated by the area 70 region of the Church of Jesus  Later Day Saints to the state government  for the victims of flood disaster.

Receiving the items on behalf of the victims the State Governor Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo( CFR)  appreciates the Church of Jesus Later Saints for their kind gesture stating that  the Anambra flooding will be treated as permanent emergency decried  over the  manace on 9 out of 21 local government areas in the state. 
The State Governor commended the Church of the Later Days Saints for its partnership stressing that the work of God will go on on earth while liking their move to the APGA motto  " Be your brothers and sisters keeper".

Governor Soludo seized the opportunity to call on international communities, faith based organisation and well meaning individuals to emulate the donor.

He assured them of adequate distribution of the items to those who are in most need  stressing that it will be judiciously shared to meet  the intent of the donor.  

In his introduction the Anambra State Deputy Governor Dr. OnyekaChukwu Ibezim whose purview overseas the assignment as he doubles as  the Chairman flood response committee noted that emergency situations can be tackled with emergency actions pointed that the early flood warnings swung his team to action.

The Deputy Governor thanked Mr. Governor for proper  management  of the  flooding especially on the makeshift building, other  provisions and protection at the holding camps and expressed delight over number of zero death record in this year's flooding adding that the cholera outbreak at a holding camp was controlled on time. 
In their various speeches, the regional manager,  Church of Jesus  Later Day Saint  Mr Charles  Adeboye described Anambra Deputy Governor as Awesome Deputy, expressed happiness over their gesture. 

Mr Chidiebere Ibeakuzie the welfare and Self Reliant Manager expressed admiration to  the Governor on his good governance in the state as elder Justice Otuonye the Area Authority  Seventy enumerated the items donated to include; rice, beans, garri, oil, soaps, mosquito nets exetera.

Justice Otuonye decried over the harsh conditions of the  flood displaced  persons stated that their church's coming is in line with the footsteps of christ while on earth.

Members of State Management Agency.Members of the flood response committee.  Chairperson Post Primary Schools Commission Dr. Nkechi Ikediukwu. The chairmen of the 9 local government areas whose localities were affected with the flood were present during the official handover of the two hundred  and fifty million naira  worth of relief materials to the state government for onward distribution to the affected victims.
