ANAMBRA TAKES GIANT LEAP IN STEM EDUCATION AS SOLUDO DISTRIBUTES SCIENCE MATERIAL TO SCHOOLS 
Prof.Charles Chukwuma Soludo  Governor of Anambra State, has today 19, September 2024 launched a bold initiative to boost Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education in the state. At the flag-off ceremony held at Capital School Awka, Soludo distributed science equipment to all science schools in Anambra, demonstrating his commitment to education.

Represented by the Deputy Governor Dr. OnyekaChukwu Ibezim, Soludo emphasized the significance of the day, highlighting his administration's focus on education. Ibezim stressed the need for a robust school system, citing the world's rapid shift towards digitalization. He encouraged students and teachers to utilize the provided science materials daily.

Prof. Nkechi Ikediukwu, Chairperson of the Post Primary Secondary School Commission (PPSSC), in her address praised Soludo as an "education-friendly Governor." She noted that countries worldwide are adopting STEM education, citing its benefits in enhancing critical thinking, collaboration, and research.

Ikediukwu highlighted Soludo's impactful initiatives in the state, this she mentioned as;
- Recruitment of 8,000 Teachers as boosting the state's education workforce
- Free Education for junior secondary 1 to 3 students
- Prompt Salary Payment, ensuring teachers receive timely compensation
- Teacher Promotion, recognizing and rewarding excellence in education
- Laptop Distribution, equipping students and teachers with modern tools
- Science Materials Distribution, enhancing hands-on learning experiences.
The event drew  some top government officials, representatives from science schools, community leaders as the sudents welcomed attendees with songs, expressed gratitude to Governor Soludoin thir vote of thanks,cultural dance display, cutting  of tape by the Deputy Governor and the official handover of materials to students by the Deputy Governor were among the event's highlights.
