SOLUDO LAUNCHES SOLAR-POWERED STREET LIGHT PROJECT IN NIMO COURTESY OF HON. AKPUA
Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has today the 15th day of June 2024 commissioned a solar-powered street light project in Nimo, Njikoka Local Government Area, aimed at improving the lives of ndi Nimo by reducing reliance on toxic fuel sources.
Represented by his Deputy, Dr. OnyekaChukwu Ibezim, Soludo praised the project attracted by Hon. Jude Akpua, member representing Njikoka II constituency at the state assembly.
Addressing the people of Nimo community, Governor Soludo commended Hon. Akpua who is also the Deputy Majority Leader of the state house for solving a critical need in Njikoka II Constituency, describing him as "uncommon and quintessential". Dr. Ibezim noted that the project aligns with Soludo's administration's efforts to overhaul outdated technologies, conserve energy, and preserve the environment.
Soludo urged Hon. Akpua to sustain his quality representation and fulfill his campaign promises to his constituents.
The solar light initiative aims to provide sustainable clean air for Ndi Anambra, saving millions of tons of CO2 gas emission per year and reducing exposure to respiratory and cardiovascular diseases by 90%. The event was attended by the traditional ruler of Nimo Community, town union leaders, women, youth groups, and APGA members.
This project marks a significant step in Anambra State's transition to clean energy and sustainable development which Mr. Governor Champions.
