SOLUDO CALLS FOR END TO IDOLATARY AS AMICHI DIOCESE HOLDS SYNOD

Amidst the first session of the 6th Synod of the Amichi Diocese of the Anglican Communion, Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo (CFR) urges youth to abstain from wrong practices.

In his address to the congregation and ndi Anambra at Emmanuel Church Ekwulumili, venue of the synod the Anambra State Governor Prof. Soludo praised diosesan Bishop, Rt. Revd. Ephraim Okechukwu Ikeakor for his commitment to fighting against this prevalent evil.
Prof. Soludo who spoke through his Deputy Dr. OnyekaChukwu Ibezim emphasized that it is crucial to condemn such practices at a time when the youth are increasingly abandoning spiritual values for unrighteous pursuits.

"We met on ground during our inception in the  office a state grappled with rampant cases of kidnapping, often perpetrated by young people who justify their actions by hiding behind the guise of idolatry, kidnapping innocent citizens and confiscating their properties, we fought against it and we won" Ibezim  stated. "The time has come to denounce these malicious acts and reaffirm our faith in the Almighty."
Governor Soludo prayed for the diocese's continuous progress and urged parents to instill proper morals in their children. "We must raise a new generation that rejects idolatry and embraces the path of righteousness," he said.

In his sermon, Rt.Reverend Sam Chukwuka, echoed the Synod's theme, "Idolatry: Causes, Consequences, and Cure," and implored Christians to abandon all forms of idol worship. He stressed that God's ultimate sacrifice through the crucifixion of his son has rendered all other forms of worship obsolete.
"Any object kept for protection in your pocket or house is a form of idolatry," Chukwuka cautioned. "Let us pray that the Holy Spirit guide us toward true spirituality."

Bishop Ikeakor lauded Soludo's initiative to promote indigenous contractors, laptop distributions to school teachers  by the state Governor and solicits for computer laboratory to be made available in all schools for students and pupils to be well trained by professional computer trainers.
