2024 MAY DAY CELEBRATION, GOVERNOR SOLUDO FELICITATES WITH ANAMBRA WORKERS, PROMISES TO CONSTITUTE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION IN 7 DAYS.

Today at Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square, venue of the annual workers' day celebration in the state where branches of the Trade Union and the Nigerian Labour Congress gather to celebrate their impact annually towards national and state building.
In his address, the Anambra State Governor Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR appreciates the workers and their union leaders for the roles they play in assisting the state government in developing the state.

Governor Soludo, while interacting with the workers used the opportunity and assured the workers that the constituting of the state civil service commission will be done within 7 days.  
The state governor pointed out that his administration is unrelenting in opening communities in  the state with the tarring of durable roads. Payment of arrears of pension and gratuity owed over 17 years. Prompt payment of workers' salaries, especially those attached with the state  water operation, reveals that some communities are presently enjoying pipe borne water again in the state. 
Governor Soludo reminded them of the transparent system of governance in his administration and urged them to put all hands for a good Anambra to be achieved while assuring them of looking into their demands and by submitting their request as read by the NLC chairman to the Governor. 

In the combined welcome address by the Nigerian Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress, read by the NLC chairman of the state, comrade Humphery Nwafor 
The union leaders welcome the state Governor, Prof. Soludo, who was represented at the occasion by his Deputy Dr. OnyekaChukwu Ibezim . The union siezed the opportunity to enumerate the challenges and plight of the state workers. Encouraged the state Governor in his developmental strides, stating that Governor Soludo has shown capacity to rule.

March-past, medals and trophies presentations, group photographs, and entertainment formed the high points of the event.
Today's workers day with theme "people first" had in attendance, the secretary to the state government, Chief of staff to the state Governor, Head of service, representative of the state's chief Judge, Commissioners, MD ABS, permanent secretaries, union leaders and workers from various ministries, departments and agencies of various fields of profession in attendance.
