ENUGU AND ANAMBRA STATE CHOOSE HOMEGROWN SOLUTION FOR SETTLEMENT OF BOUNDARY DISPUTES.
Yesterday at Abuja, the nation's capital was the boundary meeting between Anambra and Enugu State.
The meeting which was headed by the Director General, National Boundary Commission; Alhaji Adamu Adaji. The DG in his welcome address, highlighted on the importance of the boundary commission in identifying, monumenting and settling boundary issues in the nation and expressed the Commission's readiness in resolving the matter as it affects Anambra and Enugu State.
On his part, the Anambra State Deputy Governor Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, who represented the state Governor Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo (CFR) at the meeting described the two states as sisters.
Stressing that the issue between the two states shouldn't have been allowed to linger thus far. Dr. Ibezim blamed land grabbers for instigating the issues as, according to him, the two have been bonded for so long, of which a tiny line in the form of boundary will not make the two to be in dis array.
On his part, the Deputy Governor of Enugu State Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai, who represented the state governor, Mr. Peter Mbah expressed the two state's commitment in applying speedy methods in resolving their issues.
Barr. Ossai narrated that better and more modern ways of resolving issues should be applied within the two of them.
